Aircrafts and Safety

Profile Safaris operates its own fleet of single engine aircraft and is a partner of Desert Air of which we make use of their twin-engined aircrafts. Both companies are licensed by the Namibian Directorate of Civil Aviation (DCA), conforming to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) standards. All aircraft have to undergo a regular 100 hour service; a 50-hour service is optional but is undertaken by all aircraft used for our safaris.

SAFETY
Aero planes have in general a takeoff weight limitation, which may not be exceeded. This means, when with full seat capacity, fuel tanks may be filled up only partially. Each aircraft thus has its own limitations, each safari its own fuel requirements, therefore determining the baggage weight. Your comfort and safety not only on the ground but also while in the air is important to Profile Safaris and our pilots.
