ZAMBIA
is a peaceful country that offers superb wildlife and cultural
encounters. It has a population of approximately 12 million
and is landlocked in central Africa.

The country is mainly situated
on a big plateau. Three of Africa's biggest rivers – the
Zambezi, the Kafue and the Luangwa – are found here. Zambia
shares one of the largest waterfalls in the world, the Victoria
Falls, with its neighbour Zimbabwe. The bigger part of the
country has a mild climate, while the river valleys are hotter
and more humid. Ten large lakes are found in Zamibia, of which
Lake Tanganyika in the extreme north is one.
Although Lusaka is the country’s capital city, the city
Livingstone near the Viktoria Falls is better known to travellers.
A whole range of adrenalin-packed activities are offered around
the falls and the Zambezi River. |

| Wildlife in Zambia
lacks in diversity, but makes up for it in concentration and
sheer numbers of animals. Visitors can see more than a thousand
black lechwe on the floodplains or catch some of the biggest
tiger fish in Africa while viewing a large herd of elephants
or a leopard-kill at night. |
