The game species unique to the
area are the shy brown hyena, the sociable surricates (Meerkats)
and the black-mane Kalahari lion. Makgadikgadi is the biggest
salt lake worldwide.
In the rainy season the pans fill with water for a few months
to become the breeding ground for huge flocks of flamingos and
other birds. |
