North-east of the Okavango Delta
are the Chobe and Linyanti Game Reserves. These are well known
for their predators and large concen-

| trations of game, especially elephants.
The many varied habitats within the parks, e.g. marshes, dry
woodlands, riverine forests, some rivers and the famous Savuti
Channel make this area worth a visit. The Savuti Channel connects
the Linyanti River with the Savuti Marsh. The last time it carried
water was in 1980. Today it is an open grass savannah with massive
herds of different animals. |

| The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve
is a private game park. It borders the Chobe National Park on
the west and covers an area of 275 000 acres. |

| This area is very different to
the Okavango and gives the traveller a broader and more balanced
impression of the country. |
